In 1967, Neptune Bulk Terminals (Canada) Ltd. was established on the North Shore of the Port of Vancouver's inner harbour. In its first year of business, Neptune handled over 3.2 million tonnes of product. Since then, the terminal has grown in capacity and experience. Neptune has proven itself capable of handling over 11 million tonnes per year. With the addition of outbound capability on berth 3 in May 2001, the terminal is now able to handle in excess of 17 million tonnes per year.
