Why be a supplier for Neptune?
Neptune Bulk Terminals works to ensure that our supplier relationships and purchasing decisions positively impact the local economy and contribute to the environmental and social well-being of North Vancouver, the Metro Vancouver area, and British Columbia.
Our purchasing policy promotes the sustainable acquisition, use and disposal of goods and services in the most fiscally responsible manner to provide the best possible value to our shareholders and stakeholders.
When Neptune procures materials, supplies, equipment and services, we take into consideration the following:
- Economic and financial value: Neptune has a responsibility to our shareholders to provide and account for financially responsible procurement decisions. We seek out mutually beneficial economic relationships and strive to work with like-minded suppliers.
- Environmental impact: Neptune prefers to procure goods and services that are sustainable and help us to reduce environmental impacts.
- Social value: We prioritize ethical and social considerations, including the supplier’s contributions to a healthy North Shore community and efforts to provide safe and healthy workplaces for employees. Neptune values its relationship with local First Nations and will explore opportunities to work together.
- Local purchasing: We prefer to purchase goods and services from local suppliers (including the North Shore and Sea to Sky Corridor), provided those suppliers offer competitive value to Neptune.
Neptune Terminals is dedicated to conducting procurement fairly, honestly and openly, ensuring respect for all parties involved. We follow all relevant legislation and industry-leading practices in our procurement decision making, along with the ethical codes of the Supply Chain Management Association of Canada.
