Cruise the Shore for Charity
For the past five years Neptune has been proud to support Cruise the Shore for Charity, an annual family-friendly fundraising event that showcases rare, unique, custom hot rods and classic vehicles.
This year Neptune is pleased to be a presenting sponsor, made even more special as two of our employees, Tony Fiorvento, Warehouse Superintendent, and Troy Wingerak, Operations Superintendent, participated with their Mustang Shelby GT350 and 1973 Pontiac Trans Am respectively.
The event was held August 23 and 24 with a two-hour cruise on the Saturday from Capilano University throughout the North Shore, returning for a complimentary BBQ. Sunday was a public ‘show and shine’ at The Village in Park Royal Shopping Centre featuring the cars from the cruise together with entertainment, Silent Auction and 50/50 draw.
“Sponsors like Neptune are critical for our event as they help cover event costs,” says Dan London, a long-time organizer of the event. “This means that all of the funds raised through the 50/50 draw and other activities at the show and shine go towards our charitable partner.”
This year all funds raised benefit the North Shore Crisis Services Society (NSCSS), a charity that provides emergency shelter, longer-term housing solutions and essential services to women and children escaping domestic abuse and violence on the North Shore. Neptune is also a long-time supporter of NSCSS.
Previous beneficiaries of funds have included the Lions Gate Hospital Foundation, the BC Cancer Foundation, as well as TB Vets Charitable Foundation.
