Family Services of the North Shore: Meeting People Where They Are
For more than 60 years, Family Services of the North Shore (FSNS) has made a deep and lasting impact from Deep Cove to Bowen Island and every point in between. One of their mainstay programs, the FSNS Christmas Bureau, has been an important part of our community’s holiday season for over forty years.
The initiative, which relies on volunteers and donors, supported 2,500 people last year and 1,100 families received a holiday gift basket containing grocery vouchers and presents for all family members. More than 950 children and youth had a much merrier holiday season through the Toy Drive and youth gift card program. The youth gift card program is incredibly important; more than half of the young people supported were between 11-18 years of age and this program creates opportunities for them to socialize with their peers. Movie gift cards, electronics gift cards - all of these enable youth to participate in activities that may have been out of reach for them without this assistance.
A longtime supporter of FSNS, Neptune and its employees are holding a gift card drive to donate to the Christmas Bureau this year. In this season of giving, corporate and individual support makes all the difference.
