Local Philanthropy for a Stronger Community
The North Shore Community Foundation (NSCF) is dedicated to building a healthier, stronger community—today and for generations to come. Through its Community Grants program and partnerships with individuals, families, and businesses, the NSCF funds social, cultural, recreational, health, and educational initiatives. Since 2023, the Foundation has granted almost $2 million to North Shore charities and initiatives.
Neptune has long supported the NSCF through its annual golf tournament, which by 2025 had provided more than 20 organizations with beneficiary gifts totaling $1 million, plus another $1 million endowed to support annual grants into the future.
In 2019, Neptune Terminals in partnership with SSA Marine, Pembina Terminals, Fibreco Export, and Seaspan jointly established the North Shore Waterfront Industry Fund, held at NSCF, to help local agencies deliver essential services to children and families on the North Shore.
“Our annual community grants range from $2,500 to $10,000 and help to address a broad range of issues,” says Elaine McHarg, CEO. “More than 75% of our funds have been established by individuals, families or local businesses who wanted a way to make a lasting impact. We help unleash philanthropy in meaningful ways.”
