NORTH VANCOUVER, BC - At approximately 1 pm today, a fire occurred during operation of a piece of mobile equipment at Neptune Terminals.
City of North Vancouver (CNV) Fire was immediately contacted, and the fire has been extinguished. One worker was transported to hospital for observation, and two other workers were treated for possible smoke inhalation by onsite first aid. There are no further injuries as a result of the fire and no adverse impact to the environment.
The health and safety of everyone who works at the terminal and in the surrounding community is always of primary concern. An investigation will be conducted to determine the cause of the fire and ensure appropriate mitigations are in place to prevent its recurrence.
