Welcome Superintendent David Jones
David Jones, one of our new Superintendents, brings extensive rail expertise to the team. With a career spanning roles as conductor, locomotive engineer, and operations leader at CN in Lynn Creek, David understands the critical role trains play in our day-today operations. Neptune’s core mission is to keep the supply chain moving reliably in order to get Canadian resources to global markets, and the work is highly complex.
“This is not simple work. We receive a steelmaking coal train every five to six hours, 24/7,” David explains. “Potash shipments are weather-dependent, so our teams must be ready day and night.”
As David settles into his role, his deep knowledge of rail logistics will continue to strengthen Neptune’s systems. “I’m learning so much right now,” he shares. “Shipping vessels are new to me, so this is an exciting time of growth. The culture here is fantastic—the Movember activities have been fun and delicious! This is a workplace of generous, kind people, and I can see why so many are lifelong team members.”
