First in Canada: Ocean Film Festival

Call of the cold

The Ocean Film Festival made its Canadian debut last year at the Centennial Theatre on Lonsdale Avenue. At each tour stop, the Festival partners with local ocean charities to support important conservation work. The films are designed to raise awareness about oceans worldwide, showcasing the work of independent filmmakers.

Now in its 11th year, the Festival features a selection of breathtaking ocean-themed films that inspire, entertain, and educate audiences on both the beauty and challenges facing the oceans. This year, half of the ticket sales will benefit the Seymour Salmonid Society and the Pacific Salmon Foundation—two organizations Neptune already supports, making this partnership a perfect fit with our existing priorities and values.

The 2024 Festival will return to North Vancouver on November 7th, featuring a special film by local filmmakers titled Call of the Cold. “Sponsorship is a critical part of our Festival,” says Marta Vergara, Executive Director of the Ocean Film Festival Canada. “Partners like Neptune allow us to inspire the world to explore and enjoy our oceans, promote conservation, and unite people to celebrate its wonders.”
