Partnering for Youth Sports with BC Lions Football

Sports play a crucial role in keeping youth active, building confidence, and developing life skills. For decades, the BC Lions football organization has prioritized community participation, a commitment shared by Neptune. This year, Neptune sponsored the Lions' community programs—Play with the Pros and Punt, Pass & Kick—bringing these clinics to the North Shore.

The Play with the Pros event, which paired young athletes ages six to 13 with some of their favorite BC Lions players, was a hit. Punt, Pass & Kick is ongoing, offering amateur football players a chance to test their skills while deepening their love of the game.

“Partnering with Neptune has not only allowed more youth to access athletics programs, but it has also helped us reach kids we wouldn’t have been able to connect with otherwise,” says Jamie Taras, Director of Community Partnerships at BC Lions Football. “It’s been over a decade since we hosted a Play with the Pros clinic on the North Shore, and now we’re able to engage with a whole new group of kids through local amateur football organizations.”

Beyond running clinics, the BC Lions–Neptune partnership ensures that North Shore youth can regularly attend BC Lions games. Neptune donates 25 tickets for each home game to local organizations like Challenger Baseball and the École Windsor Secondary School Football program.
